Become a BAASL Referee


Interested in refereeing with BAASL? Follow these 4 simple steps to get started.

STEP 1 - Get Referee Certified

All BAASL referees must be certified by U.S. Soccer Federation or another recognized governing body. If you are not yet certified, create an account with U.S. Soccer and register for a referee course.


STEP 2 - Gather & Submit Your Information

Before applying, please have the following ready:

✓ Government-Issued ID
Submit a copy of a driver's license, state ID, passport, birth certificate, matrícula consular, or other government-issued identification. Identification issued by your home country is acceptable.

✓ Completed IRS W-9 Form
Complete and sign a W-9 using your Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

✓ Referee Certification
A copy of your certification from U.S. Soccer or another recognized certifying organization.


✓ Availability & Preferred Locations
Tell us when and where you would like to referee. BAASL games are played throughout the Bay Area on weekday evenings and throughout the day on weekends. View BAASL field locations here.

Once you have everything ready:

STEP 3 — Let Us Know You Submitted Everything

After completing the submission, email info@baasl.org and let us know your referee information has been submitted.
