WHAT IS A FREE AGENT?
A free agent is a player looking to register as an individual player and join a new team.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We have over 120 men’s, women’s, and coed teams across all competition levels and will make every effort to identify a team for any free agent that registers.
THE ASSIGNMENT PROCESS
Assignments to a team cannot be guaranteed, as they are based on requests from team captains. Sometimes, team captains may request a free agent who plays a specific position (e.g. a defender, midfielder, goalkeeper, etc) or a designated player. It is a good idea to indicate the specific positions you are willing to play when completing your registration profile. Sometimes we are able to create an entirely new team from the free agents who register, leading to many more players having the opportunity join.
Please Note: We have a No Refund Policy if you decide to drop after you have been assigned to a team.
TIMELINE
Free agent assignments can occur at any time before or during the season. Team captains will usually request free agents starting a few days before the league begins and throughout the first two weeks of the season. Your player information (name, phone, email, preferred positions, and numbers of years playing soccer) will be forwarded to team captains and, if you are selected, they reach out to your directly about joining their team. If you are not placed on a team by the second week of the season, you may send an email to info@baasl.org requesting a status update, a refund, or to carryover of your payment to another league. Please remember that assignments are not guaranteed.
I HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO A TEAM. NOW WHAT?
In many cases, you will submit your player fee directly to your team captain. Be sure to keep a receipt of your payment. In the case of a free agent team, payment should be submitted directly in your player profile.
If you are invited to join a team, you will receive either 1) an email invitation via the LeagueApps portal to be added to the team’s roster or 2) an automatic email confirming your move to the specific team’s roster. Captains will usually reach out to you prior to sending an invitation to ensure the team is a good fit. Once you have accepted the invitation and created your player profile, you may log in to your LeagueApps Dashboard to access the team schedule and communicate with your team. You may also view the entire season schedule for your league by going to www.baasl.org, clicking on “Schedule & Standings,” and selecting your specific league and division
If you are invited to join a free agent team created by BAASL, the same procedure outlined above still applies. However, in this case, your name, email, telephone number, preferred positions, and numbers of years playing soccer is shared with the entire roster in order to aid in the team’s organization.
By signing up as a free agent, you agree to abide by all the laws and conditions of playing in the League and certify that all of your registration information is true and correct.
All personal information is collected for internal league purposes only. We never sell your information to 3rd parties.
